Trauma can come from one event, or a moment in time, or it can come from prolonged exposure to lots of events. What's traumatic to one person might not necessarily be traumatic to someone else. It has a lot to do with our individuality in the experience of the moment or moments.
When we’ve experienced trauma, whether it's shame, or physical pain, grief, loss, or something else, it brings up questions about life. How am I supposed to be happy? How am I supposed to keep going, if this is the way life works? If I have to feel this way, how can there be a God? How can there be something greater?
